    FAQ

    1. What poster sizes are available?
    Overnight Prints offers posters in 11" × 17", 16" × 20", 18" × 24", 19" × 27", 20" × 20", and 24" × 36" sizes.

    2. What poster material should I choose?
Choose based on how you plan to display your poster. 100# Gloss Book is a traditional paper option, while 8mil Satin Photo and 8mil Satin Gloss provide heavier alternatives for image-focused prints. The 3/16" Foam Board (Satin Matte) option provides a rigid surface for displays and presentations.

    3. What is the difference between Satin Photo and Satin Gloss posters?
Both are 8mil materials, but they provide different surface finishes. Satin Photo is designed for a smoother photo-style presentation, while Satin Gloss provides a glossier appearance. Choose according to the look you want for your artwork or photography.

    4. Can I order just one custom poster?
Yes. Poster quantities start at one, making it possible to print a single poster for an event, presentation, display, or individual project.

    5. Can I order posters in bulk?
Yes. Depending on the options selected, poster quantities are available up to 200, making them suitable for campaigns or displays that require multiple copies.

    6. What size poster should I use for an event?
It depends on the viewing distance and placement. Smaller posters can work well where people will see them up close, while larger sizes such as 18" × 24" or 24" × 36" give headlines and graphics more space to stand out from farther away.

    7. What resolution should my poster design be?
For best print quality, prepare artwork at 300 DPI at the final print size whenever possible. Images enlarged beyond their original resolution may appear pixelated or blurry when printed.

    8. Should I use CMYK or RGB for poster printing?
CMYK is generally recommended when preparing artwork for print because it represents the inks used during the printing process. Colors displayed in RGB on a screen may look different when printed.

    9. Do posters need bleed?
If your design extends all the way to the edge, include the required bleed in your artwork so background colors and images can extend beyond the final trim line. Follow the template or file specifications for your selected poster size before uploading your design.

    10. What is the difference between a poster and a flyer?
Posters are generally designed to be displayed and viewed from a distance, while flyers are usually smaller pieces intended to be handed directly to people. Posters work well for signs, announcements, and visual displays, while flyers are useful for distributing information individually.

Custom Poster Printing for Business, Events & More

Turn your message into a display that gets noticed with custom poster printing. Posters give you more room for bold headlines, photography, promotions, event details, and branded designs, making them a practical choice for storefronts, events, offices, presentations, and indoor displays.

Choose from multiple poster sizes and materials to create anything from a compact promotional display to a large-format poster designed to attract attention from farther away.

    Choose the Right Poster Size

The best poster size depends on where people will see it and how much information your design needs to communicate. Smaller formats work well when viewers can get close to the poster, while larger formats give headlines and graphics more visibility across a room or display area.

Not sure which format fits your project? Read our guide to the best poster sizes for storefronts, events, and promotions.

    Poster Materials for Different Displays

Choose from 100# Gloss Book, 8mil Satin Photo, 8mil Satin Gloss, or 3/16" Foam Board (Satin Matte). Paper and photo-style materials are useful for traditional poster displays, while foam board provides a rigid option for presentations, signs, and displays that need more structure.

    Ways to Use Custom Posters

Custom posters can support both promotional and informational campaigns. Use them to announce events, advertise sales, highlight products or services, display artwork and photography, share directions or information, or reinforce your branding in customer-facing spaces.

If you're deciding between different print formats, see our guide to posters vs. flyers to find the best format for your message.

Design Posters That Are Easy to Notice

A strong poster should communicate its main message quickly. Use a clear headline, readable type, strong visual hierarchy, and enough contrast to make important information easy to recognize. Keep the viewing distance in mind when deciding how much text to include and how large your most important elements should be.

Before submitting your artwork, review our guide to preparing files for printing for tips on resolution, color settings, bleed, and other print-ready file considerations.

    Complete Your Print Marketing

Posters work especially well as part of a larger campaign. Pair your poster displays with custom flyers for handouts, custom postcards for direct marketing, or custom brochures when you need more room to explain your products or services.
