1. What is Spot Gloss? How can I request it for my order?

Spot gloss allows you to put gloss coating on some parts of the cards while leaving other parts uncoated free of charge. For instance, you are able to apply glossy coating to a company logo, and leave the rest of the card in a matte finish. Spot gloss is defined per side of a card. It is a 1 bit (2 colors black and white) tiff file. Black pixels correspond to coated regions. You need to make the Spot gloss file fit our file specs.

You can upload your files into the 'Add Spot UV' option located below the uploader, or if you need assistance creating a Spot Gloss file, you will need to do the following:
1. Design the card or upload finished design through our website.
2. Complete the order process.
3. Immediately log into my orders and place the order on hold. This is the most important step in the whole process. If your order is not placed on hold prior to our print cut off time, you will not be eligible for a free reprint.
4. Email service@overnightprints.com with the spot gloss file (please follow instructions below on how to create a SPOT GLOSS FILE) and provide us with your invoice number.
5. Once the file has been uploaded our File Support Staff will remove the hold from your order and it will be sent to print.

*Please be advised that once your email has been received the process may take up to 48 hours to upload your gloss file, and send your order to print.

3. What card stock do you offer? How thick is your paper?

We use a 14-point New 15-point (350 gsm) stock with a satin matte finish for our business cards and post cards. If a glossy coating is applied it will add one point of thickness. For our letterhead, envelopes, and notepads we use a 70 pound acid free opaque paper. Brochures and Posters are a 100 pound gloss book that is coated on both sides. Presentation Folders are printed with 14 pt. white CS2 paper stock. Our greeting cards are printed on C15 card stock. Announcements, invitations, and notecards are of 110# uncoated matte.

4. What is the difference between greeting cards, announcements, invitations, and notecards?

Our greeting cards are of C15 card stock, scored, and can be folded. The outside is of a default full UV gloss coat, and a default matte inside. Envelopes can be added to the purchase. Our announcements, invitations, and notecards are of 110# uncoated matte stock with envelopes included in the purchase. These 3 products are flat with no fold.

5. What are self-inking stamps?

Self Inking Stamps are stamps located inside of a cartridge. Inside this cartridge is an ink plate made of specially foamed materials that the stamp is pressed against. When you press down on the stamp, the ink is dispensed through the ink-permeable areas of the text plate onto the paper. This is why there isn't any loss of quality, which is the result of the uneven transfer of ink from the ink plate onto the text plate (common with conventional wooden- or self inking stamps made of polymer or rubber). For best results, design your stamp file using thick, bold text. We do not recommend most script and thin fonts.

6. What color inks am I able to purchase on a stamp?

Currently we offer only black ink, however in the future we plan on offering a variety of colors.

7. How long do self-inking stamps last? How do I refill my self- inking-stamp?

Our self inking stamps should last anywhere from 20,000 to 25,000 impressions based on the humidity of the area. The higher the humidity level the more impressions.

How to refill your Stamp:

  • Seperate the Grey detachable section at the bottom of the stamp from the main unit
  • Add a few drops of ink* to each of the 3 refill plugs at the top of the stamp (2 rectangle and 1 round - white holes)
  • The Grey bottom section will snap back to the main unit very easily

    9. Why does my paper curl when I print on it?

The paper may be slightly wet from the ink and water applied during the printing process. It needs about 1-2 weeks to completely dry depending on humidity. In most cases it's usable out of the box, but in high humidity places it could take a few days.
